Clarence Hollow & Main Street
The town's original hamlet, where Francis Carr's sawmill stood and where many 19th-century homes and storefronts still line Main Street. The Humbert House (10622 Main St) occupies a building dating to 1864. Expect historic homes with character next to newer infill, an easy walk or bike ride to Town Park and the West Shore Trail.

Village of Williamsville
An incorporated village of about one square mile, chartered in 1850, mostly in the Town of Amherst with its southeast corner in Cheektowaga. Historic Main Street runs through it, with the 1811 Williamsville Water Mill beside Glen Park and Glen Falls, Island Park (home of Old Home Days each July) and Amherst State Park just to the north. Village homes are served mainly by the Williamsville Central School District and pay village taxes on top of town, county and school taxes. The wider 14221 mailing area is much larger than the village. Read the full Williamsville guide.
